Obituary of William Black CARMICHAEL

Billy Carmichael Our beloved “Faither” passed away peacefully early Monday morning Jan 31, 2022 at Headwaters Hospital in his 89th year. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland. His love for his birthplace never lessened, even though he lived in Canada most of his life, and was a Canadian as well. Scotland was his home, his love and he will return there with our Mum to his beloved Rothsay. He was a wonderful husband to Catherine (Kitty) who passed 21 years ago, and a fabulous Dad to Kay (Denis), Betsy (Phil), Rick (Kimmie) and Rob (SuzieQ). He adored his grandchildren and their spouses, he was so proud of all of them. They all grew up with Poppy making their lives better, making them laugh and love more from his example. Then his Great-grandchildren came along- thirteen amazing kids, they were his JOY in his later years. He would marvel at how wonderful they were, always ready for a wee dance, or sing-song and especially the cuddles. Billy has gone on to be reunited with the love of his life, Kitty (Mum), and his family, all but one have passed ahead of him. We know there was a huge Scottish party, with dancing and singing when he arrived because that’s what Carmichaels do! He is survived by his younger brother, Harry, and his large extended Carmichael Clan. A “Celebration of Life” will be held in his honour, to be announced at a later date.
