You were in your nineties when I met you Marjorie but that didn’t matter. You had such quick wit and keen intelligence; you made a lasting impression on me. But what I remember most is your smile. You smiled at me in a way that made me feel special, like you were glad to talk to me and enjoyed being with me. I will always cherish my memories of you. And although I didn’t know you when you were raising your family, I know you did a wonderful job because Sue is the most incredible, wonderful person I know, and she loves you to the moon and back. I don’t know your other children or their families well but they all seem like good people. What a wonderful legacy you leave.
My sincere condolences to all the friends and family you leave behind. They have lost a bodacious, elegant amazing woman.

Powell Family,
What a beautiful life store for such a beautiful person. Sue, I am so glad you had the ability to take care of your mom these last months. I loved the New Years picture of Marjorie holding a glass of wine. She looked so peaceful. My thoughts are with all of you.

I never realized that we shared a name as I always heard her referred to as Mrs. Powell, Mrs.P, or Marjorie. I remember being in the house and she would sneak a cigarette inside. She had a little fan beside her chair and would turn it on and say it was ok because she was only having a quick puff! Mrs. Powell was always so nice to me and always made me feel welcome. She was just “one of the girls”. Her passing is a great loss to the family but I know that the stories you all tell will keep her spirit and her memory alive and well. Heaven has gained another angel to watch over the entire Powell clan and I’ll say an extra prayer tonight. RIP Mrs. Powell, Mrs. P, Marjorie. Love and hugs.
