Obituary of Dianne Beverly OLSEN
Olsen; Dianne Beverly (nee Burns)
After a lengthy battle, Dianne passed away peacefully at Groves Memorial Community Hospital, Fergus on Sunday, January 2nd, 2022 in her 77th year.
Loving wife of Severin Robb (Dean) Olsen of Caledon, loving mother of Kirsten Jean (Carman) of Fergus and Robert (Lisa) of Orangeville. Loved and remembered by her grandchildren, Brendan, Brianna (Ryan) and Jessica (Matt). Dear sister of Hazel Woodcock of Victoria, BC and Leslie Kehtler (Paul) of Abbotsford, BC, dear sister-in-law of MaryAnn Slater of Burnaby, BC and Kirsten Lee Youngson (David) of North Vancouver, BC. She will also be sadly missed by her beloved friends and extended family of Forest Village, Dollard Des Ormeaux and all her nieces and nephews.
Dianne was born in Vancouver, BC September 30, 1944 to Adolphus Richard Burns and Mavis Gwendoline Watson. After the war, the little family moved to Texas Road near Amherstburg, Ontario into a house built by her father. Dianne showed a talent for making friends easily, occasionally organizing impromptu dress-up parades involving children who also lived on Texas Road. She was also an enthusiastic tap dancer.
She eventually moved to Vancouver where she met her future husband, Dean. They were married in Amherstburg on April 23, 1965 and were blessed to share more than 56 years together, moving from Montreal, Quebec then to Mono Mills, Ontario.
Dianne was a very creative soul. She provided her family with many homemade dresses, shorts, and coats and enjoyed knitting. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and grand dogs as well.
A celebration of life for Dianne will be held on Thursday June 2, 2022 from 12-2 p.m. at In Memoriam Funeral Services (28 Main St., N, Grand Valley). Interment to follow.
If so desired, in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dianne can be made to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada, the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada or to a charity of your choice.
