As I was looking up information about the upcoming Remembrance Day Ceremony, I came across the article of the passing of Rose. We are all very saddened to hear about this beautiful woman whose voice has now been silenced. We knew Rose for many years as a staple presence at all the special ceremonies at the Legion. In particular to the many years of love , support and kindness that she always showed to my mom and dad, Bill and Leyta La Mere. Especially at the sunset of their years on this earth.
I’ll never hear that song, yes that song, again without hearing Rose’s booming voice belting it out with such joy.
And now Heaven has another choir member.
And that’s how we’ll remember her, with tears today and joy tomorrow. Farewell beautiful warrior.
We will remember you, Lest We Forget.

I, and many other York C.C. cricketers and their families, knew Rose for over 20 years between 1976 and 1996. She was our number one fan, always smiling and joking and the first to volunteer for any task however onerous. Many of our children, now parents themselves, benefitted from her encouraging Julie and Ami to act as playtime guides along the Don River at Glendon College. Peter married a gem. Rest in peace, Rose.

To the ELSDON family - Please accept our deepest condolences and cherish the wonderful memories of your MOM. We feel fortunate to have been neighbors for many years !
I always enjoyed hearing your Mom's accent and had the greatest respect for her M.C. duties at the Cenotaph during the annual Remembrance Day ceremony.
When I wear the Poppy with Pride, it will have further significance because of your Mom's tireless efforts and Respect for our Veterans. RIP.
Take care - Bill FitzPatrick & Family

Julie and Ami, although I don't know you (but have seen you around town) I wanted to reach out to you to express my condolences for the loss of your dear mother Rosie. I knew Rosie for over 20 years and have so many wonderful memories of her. The Town of Orangeville, and the World as a whole, has lost one of the most fantastic people to ever walk on this Earth!
