I’m so sorry to hear of Bruce’s passing. He will be sadly missed❤️
My deepest condolences to Lana, Danielle and Oz, Helen and the entire family.
I’m glad to have had the chance to see Bruce last summer when I walked into Home Depot and he took one look at me (….well my eyes at least, given I was wearing a mask) and when I greeted him he called me by my sisterr’s name ….then he paused a minute & said “wait a minute I should know you” ….it had been years since I was around town and even more since I last saw Bruce. He was completely surprised and we had a great chat catching up.
This was Bruce, never did he forget a face and he always spoke to you if he knew you or not!!
Fond memories as well as a kid walking or riding bikes with Lana uptown to drop in on Dad at the hardware store … we always spent some time there on Saturdays looking around & checking things out… I was like a kid in a candy store — I know my love of hardware stores is a result of Fleming Hardware… I still love to go into a smaller store to look around and check things out.
Mondays were especially fun as it was Bruce’s day off and he would often drive us to school- we got to sit on the “rumble seat” in the back of the station wagon with the window down or in the winter we had the chance to ride on the ski-boose behind the snowmobile.
Summers were fun spent at the cottage at Lake Eugenia where Bruce taught us to waterski.
Thank you Bruce (and Lana) for the wonder-FULL memories had by the girl next door!

My deepest condolences to Helen and all the family. I have so many memories of Bruce but if I go way back it was playing golf with Bruce at Shelburne GC at my very first Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament. Bruce encourage me so much that day, that I took up the game thereafter and developed a great fondness for golf. Thank you Bruce for your alway encouraging way. I would also be remiss if I didn’t thank Bruce for marrying Helen who became one of my dearest friends. Bruce, you will be missed.

Shocked and saddened with the news of Bruce's passing. Friendly and kind are two of the best descriptions of Bruce that come to mind. I'm so glad I had a short visit with him at home a couple of weeks ago and of course he wanted to know about me going to the Toronto Blue Jays. It was a pleasure to go into Home Depot and be greeted by Bruce and have a chat and catch up on all the happenings. My sincere condolences to Helen, the kids and grandkids. He will be dearly missed. Godspeed Bruce.

Sending hugs and condolences to Helen, Leslie and families. When I visited the Fleming home Bruce always made you welcome and feel comfortable. He was a real gentleman. He was always at the front door of Home Depot to greet you. If you asked where such and such was he knew exactly where to guide you. He had so many friends and will be missed. Heaven has gained another angel.

Condolences to Helen and the family on the loss of a great guy. I've known Bruce since high school and was always delighted to see him Fiddlers weekend throughout my adult years.... he could always be tracked down at the Legion along with my cousin Murray Bell, John Morden,Terry Irwin Ken Henderson, Wayne Davis and others. A visit with his sister Joan on her patio was also part of my Fiddlers visit since we shared the Nasato name .Like my late father, Alvin Thompson, Bruce never ever 'met a stranger". May he rest in peace Linda Thompson Nasato

I met bruce when I was just a small child when I used to go into the hardware store. He would call me yogi, and he ended up calling me that my whole life. Always friendly and a pleasure to talk to.

The Fleming family
Myrna and I want to extend our sincere condolences to the family at this difficult time. Bruce and I go back to pre-school days and it was a lot of fun to be a friend of Bruce. Whether we were playing hockey or sports and so on, we always managed to have a great time. If you needed info on hardware, Shelburne info and people, etc., a trip to Home Depot when Bruce was on duty as greeter was all that was required. He seemed to know almost everyone that came threw the doors and if not, he made it a point to learn as many names and as much info as possible. Bruce, you will certainly be missed.

Dear Helen and family We were so sorry to hear of Bruce's passing. The way you described him was so true, he loved people. I have known Bruce my whole life, my Grandma was his parents housekeeper and she thought of him as another son, my mother babysat him and whenever she saw him they would share stories and laugh ( my mom used to tease him and remind him she changed his diapers ), he was one of the gang with my Uncle Ronnie playing hockey and socializing. We worked together at the LCBO and it was like he knew every customer personally. He was a great man who touched so many. Cherish your memories

I first met Bruce when I bought a JD Gator at Ospringe Farm Equipment. Later we would chat at home Depot when I saw him. All in all, Bruce was a decent guy. I didn't know he was a golfer. RIP Bruce.
