My deepest sympathies on the loss of a kind and gentle man. I am another one who had the pleasure of linedancing with Mstthew. He had a great memory and memorized all the dances taught to us. We would all scramble to ensure thst we stood behind him so that we could follow him. He certainly had some smooth moves.
This is the sweet memory I shall carry in my heart for always. He shall be greatly missed. May you find comfort in knowing that caring thoughts and sympathies are with you and all your family during this difficult time.

My deepest sympathy goes out to the family. Matt was a line dancer at Nashville North. He had such joy for dance and it definitely showed when he was on the dance floor. At times I would dance beside him and sing (off key of course) and he would sing along as well. He had a great singing voice. I think he sang just to drown me out. Lol He was a great supporter of Nashville North and was there supporting the line dance class on a Wednesday night as well as showing his dance moves on a Saturday night.
Matt will be greatly missed.

Poggs a true sportsman, Matt we grew up together in Grand Valley, went to school together, played sports and more sports. High school years, had many great years of partying. We had many years of couples together going to house parties. Poggs always had a great time at the ice surface dances, he loved the Good Brothers. Golf became a real passion for Matt, we played many rounds locally and went for golf weekends together for decades. Poggs had one of the great swings for the game, he made the game look easy. Poggs I will someday see you again on a course in the next life. Your great friend. Jeff Firth

Matt I have known since you were a baby.
I watched you grow into a teenager, a husband, father, and grandfather.
You were my neighbor for five decades. The Pogson's were always like family to the Irvine's.

Our condolences to the Pogson family
I enjoyed growing up with the Emma street gang
Playing road hockey and prisoners base was a weekly if not a daily ritual
As life moved on we all came to know one of Matt's true passions - GOLF
We where lucky to enjoy many weekends viewing that silky smooth swing
Afterwards we enjoyed our favorite beverages and told a few stories
Matt always had an opinion or story to tell.
His chest always puffed up when talking about his children and grand children
And rightfully so
We will miss our good friend

I am so saddened to hear about Matt: I have always considered all of the Pogsons 'family' and I have such good memories of spending a lot of our childhood together on Emma Street...going fishing, playing road hockey, having water fights at the Pogsons while we emptied rain barrels, not to mention many years sharing Hope Bay. As most of the Pogson family know, this insidious disease took our mother so we do know the heartbreak associated with watching someone you love slip away. My thoughts are with all of you...time does not make us forget but it helps the sadness fade...and good memories come to the fore. My deepest condolences to all. Janet Muenzberger (Hardy)
