Obituary of George Barry CRUICKSHANK
We never loose our loved ones. They accompany us; they don’t disappear from our lives. We are merely in separate rooms.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Barry Cruickshank on Saturday July 17, 2021 at the age of 84 at Dufferin Oaks Long Term Care. Husband of Doreen (nee Ball). Father of Jancey (Scott predeceased) and Kendra. Proud Grandfather to Cameron. He will be greatly missed by many family and friends.
Barry was very active with the Tecumseh Shriners and Masons Harris Lodge 216. In 2002, he was Shriner of the year for the Tecumseh Shrine Club and was president in 2008. He was also part of the Shriner Transportation Team driving children to Shriner Hospitals in Montreal and Erie Pennsylvania for many years for which he enjoyed. He was always very proud and honoured that he had a small part of each child’s progress. Barry was Hillbilly of the year in 2010 for the Rameses Hillbilly Club. He was a long time member of the 429 Georgina Wing Air Force Association.
We would like to thank all the Doctors, Healthcare Providers, and Paramedics over the years for your care and attention towards Barry. We would like to especially thank everyone at Dufferin Oaks for all your help and care over the past year during this difficult time. Thank You to Paramedic Cara Burleigh for all your help with all the necessary equipment needed for Barry.
There will be no formal service as it will be private and cremation has already taken place.
It would be Barry’s wish to have a dram or two of a very fine Scotch in his honour.
In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of one's choice would be greatly appreciated by his family.
