Obituary of Marjorie Annus LANKTREE
March 10, 1942 - April 12, 2021
Marjorie Annus Lanktree (nee Faint) passed away peacefully at Wellington Terrace on April 12, 2021, in her 80th year.
Loving mother of JoAnn (Tim Larson) and Lana (Shawn McGuire). Grandmother of Taylor (Brice), Ava, Janelle (Matt), Lily, Merritt and Wyatt. Great grandmother of Quinn. Predeceased by husband Fred (2002), and companion Bob Seim (2019).
Marjorie spent most of her life in Dufferin County. She married Fred in 1963 and together they settled on a farm outside Laurel, in Amaranth. Here, they raised their two daughters, and welcomed their grandchildren. Following Fred’s passing, Marjorie lived in Orangeville and Hanover, before finally moving to Wellington Terrace LTC in Fergus due to declining health.
Marjorie graduated from the Guelph School of Nursing in 1963 and went on to proudly work as a registered nurse at Dufferin Area Hospital, Hillside Nursing Home, Avalon Care Centre and the VON.
Her love of genealogy took her on many travels through the archives of Dufferin County and beyond. She also spent her time keeping in touch with old classmates, enjoying “tea by the sea”, puttering in her gardens, and watching her grandkids grow. Marjorie was an avid member of the Orangeville Red Hat Society and volunteered at Theatre Orangeville.
Marjorie met her second love, Bob, later in life. Together, they enjoyed spending time on his pontoon boat in Hanover, get togethers with friends, The Grey/Bruce Singers, as well as many road trips.
Marjorie will be remembered dearly as a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend and relative.
Our family will be forever grateful to all the staff at Wellington Terrace for their exceptional and compassionate care.
As per Marjorie's wishes, there will be no service, just a quiet family internment next to Fred in Greenwood Cemetery. Cremation has taken place.
