We are so very sorry and sad to hear about Dave. Met Dave for the first time many years ago while doing a repair at our house. Then through euchre. He will be very much missed. Very funny and kind guy! And a fun and really good euchre player. He sure livened things up.
Heartfelt condolences :(

To relatives of David Shirley,
Just wanted to share a few memories of David. I can remember in my early years ( teenage) David spent a lot of time at my parents farm in the Hockley Valley. He enjoyed hunting groundhogs, helping load hay wagons or taking us out for a treat at the local store.
Since he was 6.5 years older than myself I always looked up to him as an older brother. Sometimes he would just drop in with his friend Jim and we would have a few rounds of euchre, always enjoyed that. David always had a story to tell and I can remember my first trip out west to the stampede with him when I was 16 years old. We visited his cousin Paul who at that time was working on a ranch in Alberta. I can remember them letting me drive this ranch truck which I had never done before, had a little trouble changing gears. Then we were back in Calgary for steaks in the evening. In those early years David was generous with his time and money, almost to a fault. As time went on and we both settled into marriage our lives went in different directions as it does for many people. I will always remember his kindness and friendship during my teenage years.
Condolences to the family,
Joel Thomas
