I have many memories of Lenore Beecham at St. James. I remember her standing up at the front to give an announcement and always beginning with, "Friends..." - she was such a kind-hearted person, and had many friends! I remember her standing in the hallway coming out of church, with petitions on the tables and pens ready, encouraging everyone to sign a social justice petition as part of our Justice Working Group. She was always knowledgeable about the latest local, national or global issue that needed our attention. Lenore was deeply involved in her faith community and the wider community. She spread God's love whether she went, offering to help others. She is sadly missed, and warmly remembered. What an amazing person!

Dear Beecham family,
Your mother was such a wonderful lady. I was a member at Richview United Church from Grade 2 until I left Etobicoke after graduating from university. Your mother was the presiding minister at my wedding at Richview in 1986 and then, years later, she married my brother and sister-in-law at St. James United. She was a close friend of my mother's (Anna Nicholson). My mother was so sorry to hear of your Mum's passing. My mother really valued her friendship and work with Lenore at Richview. My mother took some of the courses your mother offered during her time at Richview. I remember feeling so proud to be part of a church with the first solo female minister in Metro Toronto! She was an inspirational person and will be remembered very fondly.

Although, I only knew Lenore for a short while before she moved to Shelburne, I will always remember her beautiful smile. It always brightened up the room! My sincere condolences to her children and family, my thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of sadness. Than you for sharing all these beautiful photos of Lenore with all of us, her light shines on!

I would like to extend our deepest condolences and to say to the family that all of us are saddened by the loss of this wonderful lady. She was and is a force of nature. My family and I will miss her terribly. There is so much to say but the words don't seem to want to come...Tears and joy mixed together. Great memories. Such an inspiration. I would like to say one more time - THANK YOU Lenore for everything that you gave to us, your grace, your time, your talents, your intellect, great ideas that I wish I had thought of, your boundless energy and kind leadership, and the tremendous sense of peace and tranquility that emanated from you.
