Aunt Maxine’s fun loving spirit and constant smile has always impressed me. I remember as a child always looking forward to visiting your family out on Highland Road. It was great to play with my cousins but I also enjoyed the time spent with Aunt Maxine. I remember one time I stayed overnight. I woke up crying cause I missed home. Aunt Maxine came to the rescue. She told me I’d be fine if I just went to sleep because tomorrow was going to be lots of fun and she knew I wouldn’t want to miss out. She smiled, gave me a hug and kiss and told me goodnight. I fell fast asleep.
I don’t remember what fun the next day had to offer yet to this day I understand the power of a loving spirit, a smile, a hug and a kiss. My Aunt Maxine taught me this lesson and for that I’m so grateful.
