I think one of the happiest days other than the day you got your plates for your truck was the day you won the Judges Choice Trophy at the Custom Classic Car & Motorcycle Show Canada Day Strawberry Festival, July 1, 2018. Your smile was actually from ear to ear. I miss you so very much & I will never stop loving you.

This photo was taken at the Barrie Travelodge hotel where Dad, Jimmy and I stayed during our first ice fishing trip. Dawn was ever so thoughtful and packed enough food and supplies to feed an army, which turns out we needed ever so desperately... So the three of us set out on our big ice fishing weekend, arriving at the hotel for the night, great times had by all sharing stories, tales and getting to know each other better. We agreed on a time of 6:00am leaving the hotel for Lake Simcoe to start ice fishing. We settled in around 10:30pm for a good nights sleep. During the evening hours and as fate would have it, Barrie suffered a major snow fall and the roads and highways were shutdown. As we were having breakfast Jimmy got the lowdown on the road conditions and it would appear that we were not leaving the hotel anytime soon to go ice fishing, in fact the MTO predicted the roadways would be closed for most the day. The three of us look at each other thinking okay, what do we do now? Well Dad comes up with the brilliant idea of seeing what the hotel offers for their patrons to do during times like this. This my family members ends up being the TSN turning point best suggestion ever. Now I'm sworn to secrecy as to the events that unfolded, and remember what happens in Barrie stays in Barrie however just know it was the best ice fishing trip ever that never happened. Thanks Dad and Jimmy, truly memories that I will never forget.

This was my first family reunion with my new family. Dad, Shirley and I spent time to preparing the house to recieve everyone and with Dad everything had to be perfect. Moving forward to the day of the family reunion and everyone started arriving, Danielle, Dawn and myself were so nervous meeting everyone for the first time and Dad, well Dad he played it so cool, introducing us to everyone and everyone making us feel part of the family. Thanks Dad for making our first time Blackett family reunion experience ever so memorable.

I miss you a lot Dad. Although we weren’t a close knit family, I appreciate the time we did get to share together as Father and Daughter. Thank you for allowing me to walk that path with you to the end of your journey. It was an honour. I will always try to make you proud. I love you
