Very sorry to hear of this loss. I shall miss sending greeting cards throughout the year and I shall miss sending postcards of the Queen each summer from London. Elva's love of England and Ireland was shared by many. Alas it is the end of an era, but she goes with the love of many.

I was sad to hear about Elva. I am glad I was able to visit her a few months ago at Shelburne Residence.
Bob and Elva were frequent visitors of my parents (George and Molly), and they all loved to play cards. I remember years ago my siblings and I had some specific duties when Bob and Elva came to visit. We had a dog who liked to climb on cars, and seemed to especially like Bob and Elva’s car. We had to try to keep the dog off the car, and wipe off any paw marks. We also had to watch the cat, who was attracted to Elva's fur coat and was once found curled up on it, loudly purring. I think my younger sisters tried it on and didn’t quite hang it back up properly. I’m not sure Elva ever knew, but if she did, I think she would have found it amusing.
Elva was always interested in what you had to say, and especially liked to hear how children were doing as they were growing up. Elva will be missed.

I was sad to hear the news about Elva.
Elva was a kind and considerate person and I always enjoyed her company.
She always had an interesting story to tell or bit of advice and was genuinely interested in what you had to say.
When I saw her just a few months ago she regaled us with stories of her high school years and I was looking forward to another instalment this spring!
Bob and Elva were great friends of my parents (George & Molly) and they shared many good times together - playing cards, dances at Innis Lake, vacations, birthday celebrations and parties.
I will always have fond memories of Elva.
My deepest condolences to the Davis family.
