Obituary of John George Michael LOWES

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of John Lowes, after losing his courageous battle with brain cancer on March 2, 2020 at the age of 64. John passed away peacefully at Headwaters Hospital surrounded by his family. Born in Port Hope, Ontario, on January 20, 1956, John was the youngest of four children to the late Margaret Peacock (Hilton) and Frederick Lowes. John is survived by his children, Aaron (Nikki), Lindsay (Ryan) and Kelsey (Chris). John also leaves behind his sister, Crystal Hussey and brothers-in-law Gavin Hussey and Larry Bittorf. Predeceased by his sister Carole Bittorf and his brother Bill Lowes. John will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. John was a railing installer for most of his life before working his way up to becoming a supervisor. Working with his hands and building things of value were a great source of pride for him. He will be remembered for his sense of humour, strong will, and love for fishing. He was also a loyal friend, going above and beyond for a friend in need. A special thank you to all the staff at the Headwaters Hospital Palliative Unit and Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre for all of their help and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer Research. A Celebration of Life will be held privately by the family.
