Heather's Angels
What do the great angels do now as de-commissioned guardians of their earthly charge
now escorted across the heavens to the Most High God?
A puddle left dimpled by her passing footstep.
The resonance of the thrush calling softly from her wood.
Then nothing but the whispers of breezes.
Though angels’ tears be shed
These creatures well have led
This mortal charge to immortality
Now rest with God for all eternity
And forever bask in God's unending favour.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord and gracious Saviour

Dear John and Kendall, Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We were truly blessed to have Heather as our wonderful Christian Island neighbor. We always watched for the wisps of smoke coming from her special circle of trees in the dunes - which let us know that "Heather had arrived!" and a delightful visit would soon be in store. We will always cherish and remember with fondness the many conversations and special times we spent together. Heather's warmth, kindness and humour embodied the true of spirit and magic of Christian Island. Her light still shines. Shirley, Shelagh & Kevin O'Donnell

So sad to hear of Heather's passing through to the Bright Country. Wonderful warm memories of Heather, John and Kendall at Kingsway Baptist. She was also bright and encouraging, questioning and challenging so that learning might happen for all. God's comfort, strength and peace to you John and Kendall, and all her family and friends in these days of loss. How awful for you -- how wonderful for her!

It is not possible to express the emotions resulting from the loss of a sibling. Heather is the little girl who wanted to participate in older brother's activities. She is the artist who expressed herself in dance. She is the international traveller. She is the sophisticated lawyer. She is the analytical reader. She is the extremely aware individual who happened to be my sister. She enlivened our rare but wide ranging conversations. I will miss her.
Heather's passing is a great loss to each of us, but how much greater she will be missed by John and Kendall is immeasurable. Our sincere condolences to you both.

To my wonderful brother-in-law John and niece Kendall who gave my sister Heather the reason to live and breathe. Thank you for loving her and caring for her at her best and in her illness! She so loved you both! I share your pain and will miss my big sister but she will forever live in my heart. She is/was an incredible wife, mother, sister, aunt, godmother and friend and will be forever loved and missed by the many whose lives she touched. I am comforted only by the fact that she is in Heaven now with our Lord and passed loved ones and knowing how much she loved us all. I will cherish my times spent with my sister and all the memories I have of her for ever!

Heather was kind. She was funny. And she was capable. The kind of person you want to hang out with. We didn't do enough of that. However she gave us the gift of that wonderful smile and we will remember it whenever we think of her. We hope that you and your daughter do too and that it helps heal you. Remember
I remember when we first met: We shared a thirst for the Lord
I remember the family dinners and get-togethers: The laughter of the sisters and brothers filled a void in my heart
I remember all the parties and fun at your Clendenan home: You invited me into your family and shared your friends and time with me
I remember the birth of Kendall and the immeasurable love you gave her: How excited we all were that you had given birth to such a lovely baby girl
I remember our shared love of music: And how Zombie and the Cranberries resonated for us both
So, on this brave journey your are taking to be with the Lord: Just remember that I'll always remember you with love and gratitude

Heather was a sister to be immensely proud of: dedicated and loving mother, devoted wife, exceptionally talented artist, writer and dancer. She was full of energy and ideas, courageous in achieving her goals, and huge-hearted in her generous support of her friends and family. She was my Maid of Honour and Godmother to my son Sean. She will be much missed, but I will always remember her with a grin on her face about to erupt into her infectious laugh. The Lord bless you and keep you Heather.

Dear John and Kendall and the Morgan clan. I cannot imagine your loss. I will so miss Heather. She was my friend, my sister and sometimes my mother.
We met in 1972 in a political science class. Heather was passionate about wanting to live on a kibbutz. It was the best way in her view to expand our political ideals. And so in the spring of 1973 we headed to Greece and Israel and Turkey. I turned 19 in Tel Aviv to her happy acclaim of Happy Birthday to you. That year Heather was my constant friend, companion and confidant. Over the 40 plus years since we have continued that friendship and many more adventures. I remember vividly when Heather decided to go to law school, when she met John, the excitement of buying her first house, when she had Kendall, her writing, her dancing, her love and devotion to her parents and to her siblings and their families. She prayed and bragged and worried about each of you.
I am a great admirer of hers-her spirit, her kindness, her candor and her keen intellect. Perhaps what I will miss the most though is Heather the dreamer. She could find the most incredible joy in even the simplest of things. And that is the Heather I will carry in my heart.

Heather is one of the most beautiful souls I have ever known. Though I knew her as a little girl, our true relationship only took place in the last 3 years after her parents and my mother died around the same time. Basically we just began a correspondence totally by email. The more we wrote and shared, and the deeper that sharing became, the more I really began to truly know Heather, a true and shining light amongst my friends. We prayed for each other, we discussed our deepest hurts, and became vulnerable, realizing that there were many facets of the other that we identified with. As life for her became more difficult as a result of her sickness, I became more involved with having healing ministries pray for her. She has had such an impact on me. My greatest regret is that I was never in her presence physically since 1966. I look at Heather as a sister in Christ, one of a kind, intelligent, warm, and beautiful inside and out. I am grateful to her for the hours she spent in typing back and forth and she will never be forgotten. I know that her parents have welcomed her into Paradise and am thankful that there is no more pain for her to endure.

She was also curious and loved to learn new things. I am sure you have so many wonderful and happy memories of a lifetime together. Although this is the worst of times, you are both so very fortunate to have had the privilege of spending 40 years (John) and your entire life (Kendall) with Heather. What a wonderful gift! You each got to experience everything about Heather that you both loved so much and that made her so special. You were both much loved by her and nothing can be better than that. Once the unbelievable sense of loss starts to wane, revel in all the love that Heather had for you. She fought so hard to stay with both of you as long as she could. Heather was an exceptional person and you are both the better for having been loved and for loving her.

Dear John and Kendall:
So sorry that we have lost our Heather. I remember first meeting Heather at Windsor, Pat Peterson telling me about Heather's wonderful dancing, lending my car to Heather so she could buy wedding materials for her wedding to the wonderful John Hall. But I also have many great after law school memories and experiences with Heather through our shared membership in Les Girls a dinner group that has been meeting to share life experiences since 1982! Heather's stories and observations about life will be greatly missed - many of her insights were original and lead to lengthy discussions. John and Kendall we share Heather's loss with you...

John and Kendall, our hearts go out to you. I remember the first time I met Heather - Kendall was a baby and they were visiting Cathy Brown, my wonderful sister-in-law. We sat on a blanket in the backyard for the afternoon in the sunshine. Heather was so thrilled to be a new mother and joyful with Kendall. Cathy and Heather made me feel very welcome and we had lots of fun and laughs. And the close friendship between Cathy and Heather was very evident. I have such a distinct memory of that happy day.
My second memory is at Bob Roth's house in Riverdale where I met you for the first time. I remember being struck by how much love there was between you and Heather, John. Again, my impressions of Heather was that she was such a happy, interesting person. Heather was always that way when I saw her and always so interesting, smiling and full. She was so up to speed with the world and informed.
These memories are from long ago, but they formed my memories of you and Heather and Kendall well away from work and as friends.

Dear John and Kendall, Heather will be so greatly missed by so many people- she was a beautiful and intelligent woman but what touched me the most about her was her consistent compassion and kindness. Over the years I have realized that there is just nothing more precious in a person than kindness and she had it in spades. It was always a highlight of going to do research at the TLA library to see her smile and to have a chance to chat and hear her talk in loving ways about her family. I am sorry you are going through this time of sorrow - you are in my thoughts and prayers. love Bev Chapin
