Obituary of Gaylene Louise Doyle

Doyle, Gaylene (nee Nicol) May 6, 1933 - December 21, 2019 It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Gaylene (Gay) Doyle (formerly of Kapuskasing) on December 21, 2019 at the age of 86 at The Avalon Care Center in Orangeville, Ontario. Predeceased by her husband Jack. Gay will be dearly missed by her five children, Catherine Doyle (Stephen Peers) of Waterdown, Lesley Marcotte (Pierre) of Moonbeam, Patricia McMahon (Robert) of Orangeville, Nancy Sigouin (Gaetan) of Limoges and James Doyle (Lisa) of Orangeville; 13 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Stuart Nicol (Jo) of Winnipeg, MB and sister Fay Stocki (Leon) of Grassland, AB. Gay began her career as a Registered Nurse at Kapuskasing’s Sensenbrenner Hospital in 1954 continually working up the ranks to Director of Nursing before retiring in 1990. She was a member of The Catholic Women’s League (St. Patrick’s Parish) for 50 years as well as a member of The Kapuskasing Golden Age Center. Gay was always the consummate caregiver for any friend in need. She loved to travel and was an avid card and game player always ready for a good game of Bridge, Texas Canasta or even Scrabble with whoever was willing to play. A celebration of Gay’s life will be held on January 18th at 10:30 am. at St. Patrick’s Church, Kapuskasing, Ontario. As expressions of sympathy, donations to The Heart & Stroke Foundation or charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
