Bird, Iona Vietta (nee Hamilton) 

August 6, 1941 - February 28, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Iona Vietta Bird (nee Hamilton) on February 28, 2025. Iona was the loving wife to the late Alan Bird and mother to Rick (Cheryl), Heather (Larry) & Dale (Linda). Cherished grandmother of Jason (Jessica), Kevin, Darryn (Tori), Craig (Priscilla), Kelsey (Eric), Kendall (Tyler), and honorary grandchildren Michael, Angela, and David. Proud great-grandmother of Logan, Claire, Simone, Sierra, Austin, James, Avery, Nolan, and honorary great-grandchildren Aubrey, Owen, and Elsie. She will be lovingly remembered by her extended family and friends.

Iona was known for her endless kindness, lively energy, and playful sense of humour. Her presence always made every gathering full of belly laughs, playful antics, and unforgettable memories. She was the glue that held her family together, the source of warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. Her legacy of love will live on in every story shared and every memory cherished.

A Celebration of Iona’s life is to be held at In Memoriam Funeral Services Inc, 28 Main Street North, Grand Valley on Thursday March 6, 2025, between 1-3pm.
